I think that a lot of people have forgotten that just because someone votes differently than you do, doesn't mean they're a bad person.
It used to be way down on the list, in my time anyway.

From Maine, lived 4yrs in Alaska.
Other than the sun setting (sometimes!) in the wrong place, they are remarkably similar.
Salmon and trout fishing is better there...and king crab is cheaper, but other than that?

AFAIK, the "standard" used to be 6%, but that was always negotiable.
In the past 8yrs we've sold several homes with agents and always negotiated for 5% total.

I think you'll be lucky to find any wood that's even partially seasoned at this point.
I live near Bucksport, prices for a cord of seasoned wood, IF you can find it, are around $500, which seems crazy, but those folks are going to charge what the market will bear.
Good luck...try craigslist for your area.

Both political parties have brought everyone to this, and it's a shame.
