There’s plenty of nice suburbs around there though. I know a lot of people who make bank in Springfield/Hartford area, but live in nice suburbs like Longmeadow, Glastonbury, Avon, Simsbury, etc

If you are a Boston resident there’s a few indoor public pools that are super cheap to join.

It’s not really close. A flatbread at a casual restaurant here is like $18 and probably about 30 CHF in Switzerland. There’s no tip, but it’s definitely more expensive. Their VAT is also 3% higher.

You definitely can find cheap street food, like pizza by the slice or diner, but anything sit down is more expensive

Groceries are on par or cheaper than here.

Yeah, eating out is expensive, but your waiter also makes enough money to own a home.

I understand why Walgreens and CVS are closing, my comment is more around investment in the neighborhoods these councilors are allegedly concerned about.

There’s maybe 1(?) liquor license in all of Mattapan. And there haven’t been any of the community beer and wine licenses awarded. There’s also constant hand wringing about crime, traffic, and other hypothetical boogey men when businesses try to open or expand.
