Oh FFS. You can't be serious. This isn't even in the same ballpark as what happened to George Floyd.
Floyd was already subdued. He wasn't resisting and he wasn't fleeing. He certainly wasn't threatening to string up Pelosi and Pence.

MAGA move: move the goalposts so we're discussing an entirely different subject. Man, you all use the same playbook, don't you?

This is me, speaking as an individual. Can you imagine what the response to Jan 6 would have been if the people that acted this way were ANYONE else besides CIS, white males and females?
The Jan 6 protestors should have done what you MAGA people have preached: bow to the commands of the Police. They should have done what the Police told them to do and back off of the Capitol. They were warned, repeatedly.
Look at what happens to POC when they protest and then try to justify this martydom that you enshrine Babbitt with. She was no martyr, she was a hapless pawn.

This does not constitute a murder. She was warned. The Capitol Police officer repeatedly warned the insurgents to retreat. Ashli Babbitt was shot as as the Capitol Police protected members of Congress.

Elders can be protective of their independence. I'm not sure which is harder; one that won't accept hep, or one that expects you to drop everything and wait on them hand and foot. (My mom was the latter.)
There are some caregiver subreddits that may help you figure out the best way to get your parents to accept help. The techniques that seem to work the best are the ones when they come up with the idea on their own. But this requires quite a bit of finesse. Also, they might grumble, but I guarantee they are secretly grateful.
Can they do any kind of face-to-face time? There are a lot of options and you may be able to get a fairly automated protocol set up so that you can keep contact regularly.
Best wishes to you.

What county are your parents in? A lot of aging programs are administered on a county level. There is a companionship program for our seniors. But a lot is going to depend on their County. There are also options through local charities, are your parents in any local organizations?

Huh. Color me surprised! Good luck in your quest, but from the other comments, it sounds like you are looking for somewhere outside the city limits. Impossible for me, since I can't drive.

The Republicans are doing it right now. And no, I don't think Democrats are completely innocent of some of these things.
The Republicans in PA have practiced this and other ham-handed policies for quite awhile, though.
If you want to read implications into that, have at it.

This article is a bit disingenuous, right? It seems like the Republicans are attaching several amendments to the bill that would further their political agenda. One of these amendments is about passing a Voter ID amendment. More detail here:

Max's Allegheny Tavern for dinner. Good, hearty German fare.

It's on the Northside, so if you go to the Aviary or the Mattress Factory or the Science Center, it would be pretty handy.
