I’m a million percent in favor of keeping lead out of modern products.
If a product has been out there for 60 years and it has no plausible mechanism for the lead in it to cause problems I’m also a million percent against fear mongering about it.

…and ignores how the things she tests are used. All while using the fact that she is a “mommy” to evoke some kind of expertise.

That's not because the crock pot is poorly designed or dangerous- it's because modern electrical safety standards have to address a wider variety of products like phone chargers and computer AC adapters that simply didn't exist when the crockpot was made.

That has to be the absolute worst source I have ever seen.

No, there are serious academic debates that are worthwhile but the point of them is to see which of two speakers is more compelling- not which position is correct.

You just blew past everything I said and agreed with me for the most part. I'm fully aware that China's government messes with Chinese nationals in the U.S. and elsewhere.
That is a far cry from clandestine police departments, which would amount to technically invading another country. Outside of China, an authority that wants to bother someone from China is a bully, not a cop.

lol- You're skeptical of a Reddit account that's been active for 13+ years but you hear claims from a Spanish NGO called "Safeguard Defenders" (who Google thinks is an "author,") and that doesn't raise any red flags for you?
Do I know that China manhandles and abuses it's people when they're overseas and behaving in ways that the government doesn't approve of? Yes I do.
Am I going to unquestioningly accept claims that they've set up clandestine police stations- an act that would impinge on a sovereign state's legal authority? No, I'm not.

So China is doing shady things according to a shady organization.

We tried that with COVID variants. Idiots turned it into jokes that showed they didn’t know how the Greek alphabet works
