Reply to NYPD seeks 4 suspects who stole Apple Air Pod Max headphones off of at least 21 people by Bigrod1965
NYC or not, no one should be going around robbing people of anything.
Wearing expensive bright Apple headphones is no different from wearing Louis Vuitton heels, boots, or fancy Gucci glasses or wearing a $100k wedding ring.

Reply to comment by OGPants in FDNY wants to up the cost of ambulance rides by more than 50% by NYY657545
That’s possible.
I have health care benefits from my company, and so hospital visits are $150.
Next open enrollment, they may increase the copay. But that’s IF I accept to rollover to the new medical benefits. I didn’t accept this year, so my benefits remained the same.

Sounds like an issue for insurance companies to deal with……. Lol
I pay insurance to NOT have to pay for the ambulance when I need it, no?
And if you need to get to the emergency room, call an Uber …. If your life is not on the line.

I take the subway three days a week.
These cops, a lot of them, are young (under 40), chill, and very attentive. I'm happy to see them in the subway. I try to make them feel welcomed by saying hello. And if I'm on the platform, I spark up a quick chat about life and a "take care, see you soon" when my train comes.
When you start talking to them, you finally realize they're people like me and you. They know the area and the community and might even know someone you know.
Despite all the issues surrounding police, not all of them are alike. I dislike some of them. And I love seeing some of them.

This mento board looks different.
I've seen ones that assume your death. And so, each time you count your remaining time left, you're motivated to live each day accomplishing your life tasks.

Morgan Stanley employees are very well paid.
I can see why employees would want to return to work even if they didn't want to.

Reply to I’m in the middle of a mental health crisis. I’ve called a bunch of places and I’ve yet to hear from them. Please help me get services/reach someone soon. by Ok-Elderberry-3704
Do you have a doctor?
Your doctor should be able to fast-track your appointment to a counselor. And if you have health insurance, they should be able to connect you to a counselor too.
Download ZOCDOC. Input your insurance. See the doctor's that popup- book your appointment through the app.
If your insurance isn't accepted, you'll have to call the insurance to find providers or have a doctor refer you to one's they're connected with.

Reply to comment by NYY657545 in NYC Mayor Adams orders closing of migrant tent camp on Randalls Island that has stood mostly empty by _allycat
You know, I don't believe that damn figure.
My job had a tent set up for 300 PPL for an event and it only cost $3,000 for use for one week. It came with heating, installation, and 5 restrooms. The chairs and tables were additional $500.
The number the city gave to the media, IMO, was pulled out someone's ass-cheek.
I want to see the receipts.

Reply to Target finally opening in LIC by PoopEmoji8618
I miss the cheap apartments. A lot of college friends and freelancers were living in LIC for $600 - $1600.
Ever since Amazon wanted to move in, the pandemic, inflation, and all the new developments, a lot of New Yorkers and immigrants who once called LIC home were replaced by new and wealthy folks, some who it’s their first time in NYC.
My co-worker, who lives in NJ, says all the time, she have a summer home in the Avalon, and how beautiful their two bedroom apartment is!
Damn. This feeling is nostalgic. I’m alive to witness an entire part of Queens changing, drastically, within less than 10 years.
Damn. Stay strong!
