Check out the canoe shop in Ridgway. I think its called Lazy River. It's only a little ways north and is on the Clarion River. Been a few years but we used to do day and weekend trips. They'll come pick you up and drive you back up to the shop when you take out.

Might not be relevant but I like to share this when I can incase there's any idiots out there like me. I had these local tax letters coming from Jordan Tax Services for a while a few years ago. Granted, I've recently made some decisions to take control of my life meaning prior to that I was a bit of a fuck up, anyway turns out I had them ready to put a lean on me for unfiled local tax returns. When I finally decided to square up i found out my employer had already been taking that tax out for me and all I had to do was log on to their website and actually file the returns for those years which all ended up being zero cost to me. They just needed me to actually go and file them.

I have a buddy, who happens to be somewhat of a general contractor/handy man and really no slouch in plumbing skills absolutely hates handling copper. He says it makes him feel dirty and can smell it on his hands. Really gives him the heebie jeebies.

I'm totally gonna try to get him one of these.

As a resident along a major (in this area anyway) 4 lane highway, I can extend a small allowance for anyone who needs to make a left somewhere in the near future, but it's almost never that.

Some people think that whatever speed they want to drive should be how everyone else drives. When that speed is 65+ it's generally not an issue in the left lane. However, when they think that 5+ the speed limit in a 40 mph zone and all the sudden become a gatekeeper complaining about the guy riding their bumper when they literally just did the same thing to the dude doing 40 mph half a mile down the road, I get annoyed.

My advice to my wife and my son as he starts driving has always been, stay out of the passing lane unless you're passing. If you aren't gunning it to get passed whoever is in the right lane (or as mentioned earlier, turning etc) you really don't have any reason to be in the left lane.

My Heaven includes highways where everyone just drives the same speed in the right lane and the left lane is empty.

So I'm curious as to why you picked that spot in the first place. Full disclosure, I grew up in Shaler where fortunately the crime was minimal in general. Aside from the random domestic incidents which really only ended in murder like 1% of the time, the rest of the crime could probably be attributed to the same morons I went to high-school with. Really all petty stuff. I was also frequenting other areas down that way for whatever reason. North side, Brighton Heights, Spring Garden, Millvale & Etna of course, so I did often venture out of my safe space.

Never in my life did I once consider anything south of Reserve Township as a place I'd want to live. I once worked with someone who came in from Westmorland County growing up in one of those cookie cutter housing developments off the highway. She told me they bought a house in the Mex. War Streets for like Half a million dollars. This was probably 15 years ago. I was astonished. Not only that but listening to her complain about really just general city living type stuff but also the crime and petty stuff like ppl smoking weed on the street and public urination etc. Like what do you expect?

I guess my suburban thought is, why the fuck would you choose to live there when you can spend the same amount and live in a suburb that maybe adds 20 min to your commute but alleviates dealing with all that bullshit?
