i guess i assumed you had talked to them as part of the research you mentioned you did in ur post, my bad.

i think a lot of people would agree that its a mature subject with an incredible amount of emotion involved

its an uncomfortable thing, thats how it should feel reading it. i dont know how it could be anything else. what did those friends say when you told them about your novel?

are you writing from your own personal experiences? thats the most important thing here. are you just trying to make yourself comfortable? or are you trying to tell your story?
