I heard there were death threats to public works people for them being installed...

I like them and I wish there were some on my street. I believe the data shows they work (people generally slow down for chicanes and other traffic calming measures).

They're not going to stop someone that already treats the road like a race track though.

Smokin Bob's is pretty good. The mac is also smoked.

edit: I read it as pulled pork and mac and cheese not pulled pork mac and cheese in one dish. They don't have that but I supposed you can order both and mix them up.

Wedgewood is my go to. I followed Adam when he closed the Pomp and moved to Wedgewood. I think it’s 15 bucks. He does a good skin fade. It’s no frills old school barber shop vibes. First come first serve. Come for the cut stay for the puns and dad jokes.

People who complain about things like hating where they live can sometimes just be that type of person. They will complain about where they live no matter what.

On the other hand some people are just happy and will find ways to be happy where ever they are.

Parable Of The Two Villages

A man who was traveling came upon a farmer working in his field and asked him what the people in the next village were like. The farmer asked "What were the people like in the last village you visited?" The man responded "They were kind, friendly, generous, great people." "You'll find the people in the next village are the same," said the farmer. Another man who was traveling to the same village came up to the same farmer somewhat later and asked him what the people in the next village were like. Again the farmer asked "What were the people like in the last village you visited?" The second man responded, "They were rude, unfriendly, dishonest people." "You'll find the people in the next village are the same," said the farmer.

How Galloway was cut off

Well it is 1956 and lot has changed since this photograph was taken. We are flying over the intersection of Hwy 60 and 65 heading North.

At the time 65 from Springfield came down through Glenstone - Seminole - Lone Pine through Galloway. It would then cross Hwy 60 and cut over to what we call Blackhawk Rd/Farm Rd 181 (the bridge is now cut off) and would turn into NN heading into Ozark.

They working on the new exchange - which of course has been recently redone again.

To the left of the photo you can see where the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. A the top you cannot miss the Quarry of the AshGrove Lime Company and the Town of Galloway.
