How Galloway was cut off

Well it is 1956 and lot has changed since this photograph was taken. We are flying over the intersection of Hwy 60 and 65 heading North.

At the time 65 from Springfield came down through Glenstone - Seminole - Lone Pine through Galloway. It would then cross Hwy 60 and cut over to what we call Blackhawk Rd/Farm Rd 181 (the bridge is now cut off) and would turn into NN heading into Ozark.

They working on the new exchange - which of course has been recently redone again.

To the left of the photo you can see where the Springfield Conservation Nature Center. A the top you cannot miss the Quarry of the AshGrove Lime Company and the Town of Galloway.

It is the original! It was on display years ago at 417 Taphouse along with several other works of Christine Snelson. Taphouse said it was the first item stolen from Taphouse.

It will be returned to the artist’s gallery at Obelisk Home in downtown Springfield.
