Violin plot might also be useful here. Or at the very least giving each dot some transparency, so they don't obscure the data underneath.

But when a cam pulls out it's also because of a fall. Why does that get its own category?

I agree, but then where are "belayer error" or "clipping error" categorized? I would imagine those count for a lot more than happening to hit a ledge while falling.

the "fall or slip" causes are a bit weird as categories, because it's something that's frequent and expected when climbing; by themselves, a fall or a slip shouldn't result in an accident, so usually there's a different factor at play (foot around rope, back clipping, belayer error, etc.)

Part of what bothers me is I can't figure out what the two categories of dresses are supposed to be. It's like a puzzle with very few hints.

I'm pretty sure those styles of dresses wouldn't have existed in Victorian England.

What I find even more interesting is the the clustering of times around every whole and half hour. I'm guessing people train and push for those times in particular.

If showing up at the border and applying for asylum gets you in the same cell and just as deported as getting caught crossing illegally, might as well cross illegally, at least you have a chance of not getting caught. You can't except people to subject themselves to a broken process without any incentive to do so, especially desperate people like refugees.
