A good driver sometimes misses a turn. A bad driver never will.
If cops gave more tickets for this stuff, people woupd know better how to roll with their mistakes.

I have to hesitate on this one a bit. Stereotypes, by themselves, are generally not harmful and are often not false.
For example, I'm posting this on Reddit as a straight white male with glasses and a beard.

Even that seems like a bad idea to me. We've seen the comments in those threads rapidly get mass moderated for threats, and the ones not moderated are generalized derogatory messages like "All Republicans are [evil thing]" which just makes us all look nearly as bad as what we're decrying.
"They're the bad guys for being hateful" loses some credibility when the people saying it are being moderated for death threats.

To be honest, it does seem to be a fair point that making a big deal of these groups in the last few years has emboldened them.
Reverse psychology is a thing, after all.

Good to see a moderator that's open and communicative. Usually reddit mods only ever speak up to try to flex their authority.
Hopefully it goes well.

Yes, that's what I said.
What, do you think everyone without a college degree is broke? Now that is naïve.
That's the sort of attitude that makes so many of these kids think they need to take out huge loans they can't afford for degrees that won't help them, we gotta stop this attitude of "people without degrees will suffer".

On that, I guarantee I'm not. I'm in that camp myself.

If you've already got a college degree, then obviously you're not who we're talking about.
If you've got kids... Presumably you knew you could afford to have kids.
Doesn't change the point I'm making that a young person probably has less money than an older person. Full stop.

To simplify it, I mean when I was 22 I was broke. When I was 32, I wasn't. For a lot of people, paying for something expensive at 32 should be easier than 22.

You're not wrong. I don't think it invalidates my point either, though.

I can understand the "without a degree" clause, but why over 25? Doesn't make sense. At that age, unless you're a trust fund baby, you probably have even less going for you.

I actually agree with this.
I was pointing out the issue of having a law and watching people ignore said law.

Which only proves that without serious enforcement, it's just another law meant to inconvenience honest people.

I'm not talking about most mentally ill people, only this particular individual.
There's no way we can call his behavior and decisions reasonable or rational, I think. Makes me wonder what made him think any of it was a good idea.
Violent and antisocial, by the way, are symptoms of some mental illnesses.
