Yeah, that's an accurate word for it, probably.
I'm guessing by the downvotes I'm not being hateful enough for this sub?

Sounds like a legitimate mental health situation, behaving like that, on film, admitting it, and passing on a deal after assaulting an officer?

A couple things in this state are, but somehow we still have state laws supporting them.

Generally speaking, school sports coaches actually contribute to their school and community. Seems perfectly acceptable to me that they get paid more than cops.

The problem is twofold, I think. Besides the issues with police, another issue is our laws. Having police show up to enforce laws with violence is fine... Until the laws are stupid and not even preventing harm.
If you fly a toy plane in your own back yard without filling out the right paperwork, the same people that are expected to deal with violent criminals come to deal with you. Seems kind of broken.

I worked security in one of these hotels for a while. You can't tell they're even there at all unless you tried to get into any of their rooms and ran into the signs.

Even though the attitude on display is wrong, gotta be careful with that one. It's far too easy to get downvotes on reddit for no reason.

I work in a building classified as a foreign trade zone. If any door is open for more than a few minutes, I get an alert. All doors automatically lock when closed, and have keycard entry. Any employee that needs to open a door has that permission on their ID badge. If they don't, I can manually open it from my desk, and even give them the permission myself. All exterior doors also have cameras on them.
Extremely effective without being overbearing or intrusive.

It's another one of those things politicians do. Take on some bill, case, movement, whatever, that will make them look good in the headlines without actually rocking the capitalism boat.

Legally and for your own safety, you're better off with a gun. Unless you're in a place with crappy police, it's not that big a deal to go through the process.
