I watched that, the theory is very questionable borderline made up. But they had an interesting analysis of measures taken after the Titanic and arguing that most of them would not help.

I'm paying way less, 5k would be unsustainable. But I got the mortgage before the rate picked up.

Salem is actually overrated. The old town is ruined by 1970s "architecture", the actual historical area is very small. It's also full of tourist traps. There are many more historical towns in MA and although Salem is worth a visit, it's not something spectacular.

If you have an option drive north to NH or VT during late January/February. Better to grab a local friend who knows how to drive in the winter.

They usually run busses, but it takes time to spin up.
But yeah, in Boston you are expected to be local and know all the intimacy of transportation and geography.
